Reasons for lifting:

When Sean was in his teens he weighed only 11 stone and decided to do something about it. He took up bodybuilding to make himself bigger and stronger and to add to his football skills.

Heroes: Arnie, Sly Stallone and George Holmes, a local man who took Sean under his wing and taught him to train properly. Even today at 74 years of age, George trains hard 3 times a week!

Sean says:


 Sean is one of the best drug-free bodybuilders in Stockport.

 Barbell curls start off Sean's high volume bicep session.

 Sean controls the weight fully, never using momentum or swinging to make the exercises easier.

Dumbbell curls are Sean's second exercise.

He makes sure to get a good squeeze at the top of the movement.

 Doing curls at this angle really gets deep into the muscle belly of the biceps. Try it, you'll feel it!

 Sean holds the barbell at the peak contraction to really pop the muscle out...

 Hammer curls next.

 This adds mass to the outer heads of the biceps.

One arm concentration curls bring out the peak of the bi's, especially if you do them slowly and tense hard all the way through the movement.

You can see the biceps really jumping out after such a hammering!

 Sean's high volume bicep session is as follows:

All supersets, 4 sets of 6 to 8 reps.

1. Barbell curls to standing alternate curls

2. Preacher barbell curls to hammer curls.

3. E.z barbell curls to cable curls.
